Driver dies after solo vehicle crash in San Marcos
An 80-year-old woman died shortly after the Honda sedan she was driving crashed and overturned in San Marcos on Monday, sheriff’s officials said.
The crash occurred around 3 a.m. on San Marcos Boulevard near Knoll Road, according to Sgt. Jeremy Collis.
Collis said it appears the car struck a curb, but that the cause of the crash is still under investigation. No other vehicles or pedestrians were involved, Collis said.
The woman died at the scene.
There were no witnesses, Collis said. It is unknown if drugs or alcohol were factors in the crash.
Investigators asked anyone with information about the crash to call the San Marcos sheriff’s station at (760) 510-5200.
