High School Football Roundup: La Jolla teams end regular season with mixed results
The 2025 high school football regular season is over for La Jolla’s three teams, with CIF San Diego Section playoff schedules and seedings to be announced Sunday, Nov. 2.
Here’s a look at this week’s finales:
Santa Fe Christian 28, Bishop’s 9
The Bishop’s Knights didn’t end the regular season as they would have liked, dropping their last two games to Coastal League opponents.
On Oct. 31, Santa Fe Christian of Solana Beach held the visiting Knights to their lowest point total of the season as the league champion Eagles completed their schedule 10-0.
Bishop’s fell to 7-3 overall and fourth place in the league with a 1-3 mark.
La Jolla High 48, Madison 35
The Vikings wrapped up the regular season Oct. 30 by running past Madison of San Diego — literally.
Aiden Farrell rushed for 233 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 10.1 yards per carry. He continued his key role for La Jolla, as the team is 4-1 when he runs for at least 80 yards and 2-3 otherwise.
Carson Diehl picked up 109 receiving yards and caught three of quarterback Emerson Rota’s four TD passes for the Vikings. Diehl also recorded an interception on defense.
The road victory put the Vikings at 6-4 overall. They went 2-2 in Eastern League play and finished in third place.
Madison ended the regular season 3-7.
Coastal Academy 33, La Jolla Country Day 28
The Torreys dropped their regular-season finale at home to the Coastal Academy Stingrays of Oceanside on Oct. 30.
The loss left Country Day 4-6 overall. The Torreys finished 2-2 in the Coastal League, good for third place.
Coastal Academy finished 9-1 in posting its sixth consecutive victory.
