Kenneth Barlis celebrates a decade in fashion
Kenneth Barlis presented his 10-year Anniversary Fashion Show on Oct. 22 at the Port Pavilion on the Broadway Pier. Barlis was celebrating 10 years in the business of creating couture fashion for musicians, influencers, and A-list celebrities. This global brand includes a woman’s couture line, a men’s line and also a bridal line. Shared Blessings Foundation Inc. partnered with the event this year.
The musical group No Strings Attached entertained the guests as they arrived on the red carpet.
Fox 5 Phil Blauer and Maria Arcega-Dunn emceed for this star-studded affair. The evening began with the Filipino anthem sung by Patrice Trinidad and was followed by the U.S. national anthem. During the evening, two contestants from Bravo’s Project Runway S19 presented their collections. The first one was Coral Castillo who showed her stunning designs. During Covid, Castillo picked up macramé and has combined this art with her designs for one-of-a-kind looks.
The other designer was Katie Kortman who is a fashion and textile designer. Her designs are vibrant and colorful— making dopamine dressing easy. These creations uplift and make the wearer feel happy.
One segment began with the singer Paris Quoin. She came out dressed like a hibiscus flower and the petals moved as she came down the runway. Additional entertainers were Enzo Morales and Marvin Calderon from American Idol Season 12 who performed for the audience.
Kenneth Barlis first presented a segment with 100 of his clients wearing his designs. They came down the runway showing off these amazing creations. His clients spanned a wide range of shapes, sizes and ages, demonstrating his versatility.
The evening concluded with Kenneth Barlis’s latest collection. He explained that the theme of this collection “is inspired by Filipianiana dress, a traditional Filipino attire and I added a modern twist.” The crowd was dazzled by these elegant creations. Barlis will be hard-pressed to top this extravaganza. Currently his collections are available on Melrose Ave, Los Angeles and here in San Diego. For more information visit: kennethbarlisofficial.com/
