Man found dead on freeway embankment near Balboa Park
An unidentified man was found dead Friday morning near a fence at the top of an embankment along southbound State Route 163 at the interchange with Interstate 5 near Balboa Park.
The man was found around 7:30 a.m., by authorities who said the man experienced a medical emergency. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The CHP is investigating the circumstances of the death and a toxicology report is pending. The man’s identity has not been released pending notification of next of kin by the San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office.
