Motorcyclist killed in Julian crash
A motorcycle rider died and a person apparently riding the same motorcycle was injured Thursday in a collision with an SUV in the Harrison Park neighborhood in Julian.
The crash was reported to the California Highway Patrol just after 6 p.m. on southbound state Route 79 just south of Harrison Park Road.
A witness told the CHP the SUV went into the embankment following the collision.
Two riders from the motorcycle were injured in the roadway in the wake of the crash, with at least one rider unconscious with labored breathing, according to CHP traffic logs.
One of the riders was pronounced dead at the scene. The person’s name was not released.
