On shutdown, why think Trump would care about distressed federal workers?

Re “Government shutdown continues to add to stress on air traffic controllers and disrupt flights” (Oct. 24): The Democrats made a stupid move again by shutting down the government over Obamacare and Medicaid subsidies.

First, only 28% of Americans have Obamacare or Medicaid. Second, to expect this president to back down, especially over distressed federal workers, is never going to happen. Because they feel their pain, the Democrats will give in — hopefully sooner than later.
