Poway Fall Festival to offer Beer & Wine garden, food and fun

by Madison Beveridge

With October just around the corner, the Poway Fall Festival is gearing up for a full day of family-friendly activities and fun.

Set for Sunday, Oct. 5, the festivities will run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. along Midland Road, between Poway Road and Hilleary Place.

Hosted by the Poway Chamber of Commerce, the free Fall Festival serves as Poway’s annual street fair, boasting food and drink vendors, live musical performances and entertainment, a car show, a Beer & Wine Garden and craft stalls.

The festival also marks one of Poway Chamber of Commerce’s largest fundraisers of the year.

Activates and performances will kick off at the Community Stage, with much of the day’s entertainment taking place there.

Here is the Community Stage schedule:

  • 10 a.m.: Nova Luna Gymnastics
  • 10:30 a.m.: Barefoot Studios: Students
  • 11 a.m.: Poway Library
  • 11:30 a.m.: SoCal Dance

Additional activities around the festival include the Classic Car show, which hosts old, new and vintage cars on display; and a Kid Zone with a large, inflatable playground.

Food and beverage vendors will line the street.

“We have a full food court featuring Poway Chamber of Commerce members Big Devs Down Home BBQ and Luna’s LUNpias, as well as about 10 other major food vendors … in addition to the novelty food vendors sprinkled throughout the festival such as shave ice, kettle corn, and more,” said Mike Leland, Poway Chamber of Commerce president and CEO.

The Beer & Wine Garden features wine from Barrel Riot, Koi Zen Cellars and Uvas Winery. The Hop Stop will be serving Alesmith Brewing Company beer.

With plenty of vendors outside the food and drink realm, Leland urges locals to swing by and check out all the festival has to offer.

“People should come out because we will have something for folks of every age including lots of great craft vendors where people can get a bunch of their holiday shopping done, and it looks like we should have perfect, mild weather this year too,” he said.

This year’s sponsors include General Atomics Aeronautical as the title sponsor; Bill Howe Family of Companies as the Main Stage sponsor; Poway Valley Collision as the Poway good neighbor sponsor; Plumbing Plus as the community stage sponsor; and EDCO, Amazon Fresh, Paychex and Dr. James Spalenka Family, Cosmetic and Implant Dentistry as the general event sponsors.
