Poway’s Christmas in the Park kicks off the holidays
by Pomerado News
Poway’s annual Christmas in the Park on Dec.12 and 13 featured caroling, live music, visits with Santa, free children’s crafts and model train displays.
Guests at the event at Old Poway Park could also purchase holiday treats, do some Christmas shopping at the craft boutique and ride the Poway Midland Railroad. Santa made his entry to the event from the train.
The tree lighting ceremony was held Dec. 12.

The relocation of the Poway Christmas tree from the porch of Templars Hall to its new location next to the fountain allows people to gather around it on all sides. The lit-up tree can still capture the attention and imagination of young children (bottom left of the tree). (Criselda Yee)
