San Diego police involved in shooting during foot pursuit in Balboa Park
At least one San Diego police officer fired their weapon during a foot pursuit in Balboa Park on Tuesday.
The shooting occurred around 4 p.m. on Balboa Drive near Quince Drive while officers were chasing after a suspect, Officer Colin Steinbroner said.
The suspect was conscious and breathing at the scene, Steinbroner said. The person was then taken to a hospital with unknown injuries.
No other information was immediately available.
The shooting is being investigated by the Sheriff’s Office under a countywide agreement that prevents departments from investigating shootings involving their own officers.
