SeaWorld’s Summer Spectacular features news shows, fireworks

SeaWorld San Diego has unveiled its all-new Summer Spectacular, which runs now through Monday, Sept. 2. Guests are invited to dive into the excitement through new interactive experiences, shows, a summer concert series, and even more up-close animal encounters throughout the park, all in honor of SeaWorld’s 60th Anniversary this year.

LIVE SHOWS & ENTERTAINMENT

  • New “So Much More to Sea” 60th Anniversary Parade Featuring Shamu and Crew – In celebration of SeaWorld’s 60th anniversary, guests of all ages can enjoy an all-new interactive parade featuring the park’s ocean crew and fan-favorite SeaWorld characters embarking on an exciting adventure full of endless discovery.
  • New Enchanted Wonders Fireworks – Enchanted Wonders Fireworks take place in the skies. As the sun sets and the night sky comes alive, guests will be treated to a dazzling display of color, beloved music from Blue Horizons and Shamu Rocks, and lyrics created just for SeaWorld.
  • New live performance show, Shamu and Crew: Together Again – Come sing and dance with Shamu and Crew (Sam, O.P, Coral, Shivers, Pete, and Penny) as they reunite to rebuild Shamu’s Happy Harbor for their SeaWorld 60th Anniversary Celebration. With a little elbow grease, teamwork, and a touch of nostalgia Shamu and the Crew will start the celebration with some style. The show is located at Mission Bay Theater.bmx blast w band
  • New stunt show, BMX Blast! Powered by BODYARMOR – BMX Blast! is a high-energy stunt show celebrating the history of extreme sports in Southern California. Sing along as a live band cranks out the pop-punk hits of the late ’90s while world-class stunt riders showcase tail whips, bar spins, and back flips. Guests won’t want to miss these big tunes, big ramps, and big air. Shows are located at Nautilus Amphitheater.
  • New Sea Lion Presentation: Starting on June 7, the debut of Flippers, Facts and Fun: The Sea Lion Experience, a new sea lion presentation that will have guests laughing and learning lots of fun facts about sea lions.
  • New Pirates Ahoy! The Battle for Mermaid Cove – Get ready for a swashbuckling adventure on the high seas with this water stunt spectacular, Pirates Ahoy! The Battle for Mermaid Cove. Watch as pirates battle against mesmerizing mermaids in a thrilling display of water stunts and acrobatics. This action-packed stunt show will have guests on the edge of their seats and fully immersed in the alluring world of mermaids and pirates. Shows are daily at Bayside Amphitheater.

CONCERT SERIES EVERY SATURDAY

The Summer Concert Series takes place every Saturday during Summer from July 13 to Aug. 24 and features an impressive lineup of chart-topping performers including Jesse McCartney and Ginuwine. From rock, and R&B to pop, there’s a concert for everyone to enjoy. Musical performances include:

  • Saturday, July 13 – Jesse McCartney, a pop heartthrob, reached No. 1 on the charts with his solo hits “Beautiful Soul” and “Leavin.”
  • Saturday, July 20 – Ginuwine, an R&B sensation known for his hit song “Pony,” weaves tales of love and passion through his soulful lyrics and irresistible melodies.

Satisfy summer cravings with SeaWorld’s lineup of food and drink options. This year, guests can expect all-new menu items alongside returning fan favorites.

  • New Shamu and Crew Character Breakfast – Guests can join Shamu and his Crew as they celebrate Sea World’s 60th Anniversary. Enjoy breakfast while being surrounded by SeaWorld’s iconic characters.
  • New Dishes – Ride a wave of flavors with the all-new Beef Short Rib Bao Buns, Pork Tonkotsu Ramen, Wonton Nachos, Chicken Stir Fry Noodles, and more.
  • Returning Fan Favorites – Guests can enjoy returning menu items including fish tacos topped with chipotle crema, fresh shrimp ceviche, pollo asado nachos, and more. Quench the thirst with a Watermelon or Hibiscus Lemonade with a Tajin rim!
  • Cool off with a frozen treat – There’s no better way to beat the warm California sun than with a refreshing frozen dessert. Pop on over to Rita’s Italian Ice for tasty frozen drinks like Shark Gelati, Italian ice, and frozen custards. Dreyer’s Ice Cream Parlor also offers guests hand-dipped ice cream cones or enormous brownie sundaes.
  • Salty snacks and 75 Cent Beer – Cheers to summertime with a nice cold 7-ounce beer for 75 cents at High Tides Brew, one per guest per visit. Pair it with a Shamu-shaped pretzel or a new souvenir popcorn bucket.

JEWELS OF THE SEA: THE JELLYFISH EXPERIENCE

In 2024, guests can step into a new and mesmerizing world of underwater wonders at the brand new “Jewels of the Sea: The Jellyfish Experience” exhibit. Providing an immersive and interactive experience, the new exhibit is the first of its kind for SeaWorld parks. The all-new aquarium experience will feature three unique galleries with a wide range of different kinds of glowing and graceful jellies. Through educational components and behind-the-scenes upgrade opportunities, guests will learn about the beauty and diversity of the translucent species, their behaviors and patterns, and how they have adapted to some of the most extreme environments on Earth.
