The Sarah O’Connor Art Gallery to hold grand opening event in Del Mar

Local artist Sarah O’Connor invites the community to celebrate the grand opening of The Sarah O’Connor Art Gallery, a new coastal-inspired working studio and exhibition space overlooking the ocean in the heart of Del Mar. The public is welcome to attend an opening reception on Nov. 1, from 4 to 6 p.m., featuring O’Connor’s original ocean-inspired paintings, light refreshments, and music.

For more than two decades, O’Connor’s daily connection to the ocean has shaped her artistic journey, according to a news release.

“On most days for the past 20 years, you might have met me at the ocean—surfing, doing yoga on the cliff, painting, walking, or partaking in whatever the ocean has to offer off the San Diego coast,” says O’Connor in the news release. “After 40 years of oil painting, it’s my vision to bring together the community through live art creation, curated receptions, and a uniquely Southern California art space.”

The Sarah O’Connor Art Gallery serves as both a working studio and a gathering place for art lovers and ocean enthusiasts alike. Through live painting events, workshops, and rotating exhibits, O’Connor aims to create a space that celebrates creativity, community, and the restorative power of the sea, the news release stated.
