Summer Organ Festival finale: The 37th annual San Diego International Summer Organ Festival concludes Monday with an organ-centric celebration of The Beatles, whose one and only San Diego concert took place 60 years ago this week. 7:30 p.m. Monday. Comedy night: Comedian, intensive care unit nurse and Army veteran Greg “G” Williams is bringing his Nurses Night Out comedy event to Mic Drop Comedy. Williams started his show in 2013 and the comedy material deals with medicine, healing and the healthcare industry. The Sky Tonight: This monthly planetarium show gives locals a chance to look at the sky with the help of an astronomer. This month’s show, “Pattern in Nature,” is about the phases of the moon. “LOVE LETTER / CARTA DE AMOR”: Madison Galleries presents a solo exhibition by the contemporary artist RETNA. Documentary, discussion on illiteracy: The Oceanside Public Library’s READS Learning Center hosts a free screening of “The Truth About Reading” by Emmy award-winning documentarian Nick Nanton from 5 to 7 p.m. Sept. 4 at the Civic Center Library Community Rooms, 330 N. Coast Highway. After the screening, there will be a discussion led by community literacy advocates Jose Cruz, John Corcoran, Svetlana Cvetkovic and Carrie Scott. The Oceanside Public Library’s adult literacy program, known as Oceanside READS, helps adults reach their education goals. The Learning Center provides free tutoring and small group classes for adults who want to improve their reading, writing, speaking and listening skills. Fall Into Reading: Mysterious Galaxy will host an event to welcome the return of fall. Participants are invited to wear flannels, bring blankets and warm beverages, and read with fellow book lovers.
