Clean Energy Alliance seeking applicants for Community Advisory Committee

by Luke Harold

The Clean Energy Alliance announced that it is accepting applications for its Community Advisory Committee through Dec. 22.

There are seven open positions, one for each of the seven member cities. The committee has 14 total seats, with two representatives per city, who are tasked with giving feedback on CEA programs and public engagement, according to a CEA news release. One member serves as chair.

The CEA Board of Directors, which consists of a city council member from each of the seven member cities, will make appointments to the advisory committee at its Jan. 29 meeting.

“Community Advisory Committee members contribute to the development of clean energy programs, policies and outreach strategies,” according to the CEA news release. “They also weigh in on local sustainability efforts and provide rate-setting recommendations, ensuring that community perspectives inform key decisions affecting CEA’s member cities.”

Committee members serve two-year terms. There are no term limits.

“Joining the CAC gives residents a direct voice in clean energy initiatives that impact their community,” Clean Energy Alliance CEO Greg Wade said in a statement.
