Driver dies in head-on crash near San Marcos
A woman was killed in a head-on crash Tuesday in the San Elijo area, an unincorporated community near San Marcos, sheriff’s officials said.
The crash occurred about 3 p.m. on San Elijo Road.
The preliminary investigation indicates a Nissan Sentra, driven by the woman, was going west when she lost control, crossed over the center median and struck an oncoming Honda CR-V, sheriff’s officials said.
The Sentra’s driver died at the scene. Her name has not been released pending family notification.
The woman driving the CR-V was taken to a hospital for unspecified injuries.
