Preview: Tritons host Cal State Northridge in Big West battle

Last time out: Forward Bol Dengdit had 17 points and Tom Beattie had an 11-point, 11-rebound double-double as the Tritons rallied from a six-point halftime deficit to score a 69-66 victory at UC Riverside. UCSD scored 40 points in the paint against the Highlanders. Freshman Hudson Mayes scored nine points for UCSD while going 7 for 7 from the free-throw line.

Series history: UCSD leads the all-time series 8-2 and has won eight straight against CSUN.

Tritons update: UCSD is 3-3 over its last six games. Forward Leo Beath continues to lead the Tritons in scoring, averaging 15.7 points a game. But he has scored only 34 points over the last four games while going 11 for 40 from the floor. Beattie is averaging 10.8 and a team-leading 5.5 rebounds per game. But Dengdit has scored 91 points (15.2 per game) with 40 rebounds over the past six games to raise his season averages to 10.8 points and 5.1 rebounds per game. Dengdit, Beath, Beattie, Aidan Burke and Emanuel Prospere II have been the starters in all 17 UCSD games.

Matadors update: CSUN is 3-4 over its last seven games. Guard Larry Hughes leads the Matadors in scoring with an average of 18.7 points per game. Guard Joshua O’Garro is averaging 14.7 points and a team-leading 9.4 rebounds per game. Point guard Josiah Davis is averaging 14.1 points and 6.2 assists per game. Forward Mahmoud Fofana is averaging 10.2 and 7.3 rebounds a game.
