Football players have a choice, but not rodeo animals
Re “The hypocrisy of rodeo critics is in plain sight” (Jan. 1): How does letter-writer Mark Blakey know which of these rodeo critics consume beef? I happen to know one of the writers who wrote an opinion piece on this, and he is vegan, as am I, another rodeo critic.
In mentioning the critics who will be cheering for their favorite football teams every week, he seems to forget these players choose to play football. Rodeo animals do not choose to be roped and strangled, etc. To many people, standing up for animals is as worthy a cause as the ones he mentioned. We can all support multiple causes, can’t we?
