One person dies in crash on SR-78 in Ramona
One person was killed Thursday when a vehicle veered off a rural Ramona roadway and struck an embankment.
The fatal crash happened on state Route 78 at Weekend Villa Road shortly before 4 p.m. Thursday, according to the California Highway Patrol.
One person died at the scene of the accident, which forced a closure of SR-78 in the area, the CHP reported.
It was unclear if the fatality was the driver or an occupant of the vehicle.
