Teenager fatally struck in Mira Mesa intersection by SUV
A teenage pedestrian died after he was struck by a SUV under foggy conditions in Mira Mesa late Saturday, San Diego police said.
The collision happened just after 11 p.m. at the intersection of Camino Ruiz and Hydra Lane, a residential area roughly a half-mile north of Mira Mesa Boulevard, the department said.
Police said the teenager was in the intersection when he was struck by a 2020 Chevy Traverse driven by a 40-year-old man. Police said the victim was unidentified, but said he appeared to be about 15 years old.
The motorist is not suspected of driving under the influence.
