“Cotton”: The Conrad Prebys Performing Arts Center is holding a panel discussion with singers who will be performing in the operatic song cycle “Cotton.” The singers speaking will be UC San Diego professor Anthony Davis, singers Justin Austin and J’Nai Bridges, and poet Marc Bamuthi Joseph. The panel will talk about the creative development and performance of Cotton, an opera that showcases music and photography as a means of exploring African American history and resilience. Singles fitness meet-up: Studio by Catalyst is teaming up with the matchmaking services Amador Matchmaking for a singles meet-up event geared towards fitness enthusiasts.
