Woman killed in downtown freeway crash identified as San Diego resident
Authorities publicly identified a 23-year-old woman who was killed earlier this month in a traffic crash on a downtown freeway connector.
Kaya Ray of San Diego was taking the ramp from southbound Interstate 5 to eastbound state Route 94 when the sedan she was driving veered off the roadway for unknown reasons and struck a tree shortly before 11 p.m. Oct. 6, according to the county Medical Examiner’s Office.
Paramedics took Ray to Scripps Mercy Hospital in Hillcrest, where she died two days later, the agency reported.
