Preview: USD hosts Grambling State in first-ever meeting between schools

Last time out: After leading by 11 points at the break, USD saw Idaho pull even twice late in the second half before a 3-pointer by Vuk Boskovic put the Toreros ahead to stay with 1:51 left in a 78-74 victory at the Jenny Craig Pavilion. Juanse Gorosito led the Toreros with 22 points, while Ty-Laur Johnson finished with 21. Boskovic added 13 points and a team-leading six rebounds and six assists.

Series history: First meeting.

Tigers notes: Grambling has four players averaging in double figures, led by guard Jamil Muttilib, who averages 13.3 points off the bench. 6-7 Sr. Forward Jimel Lane is at 12.3 points a game, followed by forwards Antonio Munoz (11.8) and Roderick Coffee III (10.0). Grambling has 10 players averaging more than 10 minutes a game.

Toreros notes: USD is shooting 48.6% from the floor after three games, up from 40% last year. The Toreros’ defense is holding opponents to a 40.7% mark this season compared with an almost 47% success rate last season. Gorosito is averaging 15.0 points per game and is shooting 53% from the field; Toneari Lane is averaging 10.7 points, while Johnson and Tim Moore each average nine.
